I think with the exception of Gujarat and the popularity of Modi and the Gujarat elections, there is a big change. The kind of stuff you used to hear 10 or 15 years ago, you don't hear so much now – I remember as a young reporter, I spent a lot of time in and around Delhi where major Hindu-Muslim riots happened and there were curfews. I hope the Gujarat incident is an aberration, but these have not gone away; these things have deep roots. Modi, I think, is a deeply sinister character and he is a profoundly dangerous man and as happened with Hitler, economic success combined with violent nationalism/violent chauvinism is a dangerous combination.
